I would be stunned, but anything can happen in this world cup.

I'm much more concerned with us just advancing. We could easily lose 2-0 to germany and Ghana beat portugal 2-0 and suddenly we are out.

I agree. Don't know why people think us losing 1-0 and Ghana winnin 2-0 is very realistic.

10 to 1? Good value IMO

Before we folded up tent we had plenty of scoring chances against Portugal and don't see this match going 0-0.

If it's tied with 80 minutes gone, I'd be worried but at those odds you should be able to buy back any of your bet during the match if necessary and come out at least even. This years USA team actually has scoring power which is unlike teams of the past.

this is going to be a really conservative game by both side - i seriously doubt you see either team coming out with a loss.

Wouldn't a do or die money line parlay pay more? On the pick em line even? They will be underdogs throughout the knock out stage, most likely meeting Belgium, Argentina, Holland, then maybe Brazil or even Germany again (in the final). Seems 10 to 1 is lousy value.

I realize brackets are not set of course.

Chop, sorry, but 10 teams play better than the USA squad right now. No value at all on those odds actually.

Argentina, Holland, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Germany, Costa Rica and Mexico have better chances.

I need to clarify. The 10 to 1 is vs Germany only.

Is it throwing money away to take USA +1000 vs Germany

Yeah, it's a long shot, which is why it's at 10 to one odds. I think a small bet would be worth it. US is playing with 1 day less rest, they haven't been playing their best, but they are gritty as always and still find ways to get results. Regardless of the odd game 1 injuries, I still feel they are better conditioned. Germany plays 4 CB's on defense. That is where we will be able to attack them, we have the speed advantage there. Fabian Johnson is playing great ball. Klinsmann also hinted that some fresh bodies will be used. Yedlin anybody? His pace late in the game killed Portugal. That's why I never count them out. Chandler and Brooks, two of the German-Americans could be options. Jones is in beast-mode. If Bradley could somehow find his A-game, there is hope.

yes... take the over

I really doubt these teams come out very hard knowing that the draw gets both in and Germany keeps 1st place. They will take chances, but I don't think we are going to see a wide open game. Doesn't seem like a very solid choice imo. And your list of 8...or is it 10 teams is about 4 teams too many.
