Tuesday: 1-3, -3.25 units.

Detroit -1 (-106) 4 units. The Rangers have the smell of death around them. A once proud team that is now ravaged by injuries, bad pitching and a manager that has been there longer than he deserves. Other than Beltre, Shoo, Rios and Darvish, there isn't much there that can compete- and even Darvish is looking more human. Coming home after bombing on the road can be tough on the younger players of which they have many. Joe Saunders is another starter who is there only because of the many injuries. He has not pitched well in Texas going back 4 starts now. The Tigers know what he has and many of them hit Saunders well. Saunders is a fly ball pitcher in the wrong park. Besides, Detroit is looking like they have that very good 1-9 lineup again.

A. Sanchez has really been the best of the Tiger starters, and commands his pitches very well. He has never had elite stuff, but mixes his 4 pitches well while varying speeds. He has given up just 1 HR in his last 10 starts and walks very few. Both teams have poor bullpens, but at least Sanchez will give Detroit a good 6-7 innings. The Rangers also are just so different now because they only have 3-4 guys that produce, and Choo and Rios are cooling off of late.

Sorry about these short write-ups:

Seattle -1 (+102) 2 units. Seattle is streaky and right now they are crushing RH pitchers. Bucholz returns after a terrible start to the year with incredibly messed up mechanics. Iwakuma loves pitching in Safeco and usually rebounds well after a shaky start. Boston's hitting is now going on 3 weeks of slumping. Mariners- bullpen is also hot.

Baltimore/ Chicago- over 9 (-105) Noesi is living on borrowed time and both he and Ubaldo have command issues. Two shaky bullpens, a hitter's park and 2 teams that have many power hitters. This is the game that Noesi gets chased early.

Philadelphia ML -117. One unit. The Marlins are whiffing at an unprecedented rate, and they are done probably playing over their heads. Alvarez is almost unhittable in Miami, but more average away. His stats also are due for a major regression. Miami BP also looks vulnerable.

Baltimore/ CWS- over 5 (First 5) -115. One unit. Both of these starters have a history of getting in trouble early.

KC TT over 4 (-105) 2 units. Dan Haren is not facing SD or one of those weaker DH-less lineups. Haren has been tagged for 12 homers in just his last 48 IPs. A rate of 1 per 4 innings. He's been extremely lucky that more men haven't been on base. Haren usually exits in the middle innings and has been receiving losses in close games due to the shaky Dodger middle relief. In fact, their late relief hasn't been marred by an inconsistent Kenley Jansen. Haren's ERA of 4.67 last year might be more reflective of his abilities and he's been somewhat lucky this year.
