Minor winning day, but still liked that card. Mariners barely lost, Baltimore game barely missed the over(pushed), and Phils lose by one.

Milwaukee TT over 4.5 (-120) 5 units. The Rockies are reeling in the worst way. Their offense just can't score enough to win games. Their bullpen is the worst in the NL and that's why I like this game so much. You have a starter, Christian Friedrich, who has one horrible start(vs. the Brewers) in which he gave up 9 runs, though only 4 were earned. The Rockies defense is also performing poorly of late. This game was notable in that 3 runners scored for Milwaukee on one wild pitch. The 3rd runner scored when Friedrich casually walked back toward the diamond and the 3rd runner hustled home before he realized the ball was still in play. He didn't have the wherewithal to even throw it to his catcher. Friedrich was also getting shelled in AAA before the call up. In his last 46 IPs (large sample size) he gave up 47 runs and 71 huts. Yikes! So he's facing a very good hitting team, at home, the only team that has faced him, with a dreadful bullpen, mediocre defense…. What's not to like?

Of course, in baseball, things happen. The Brewers could hit screaming line drives at fielders, Friedrich could get lucky and have the best stuff of the whole year, or the Rockies bullpen could survive a few innings. The Brewers are free swingers, and with Friedrich on the mound, might be overly aggressive. Still, I have to think the odds are very good that Milwaukee will score some runs.

LAA -1/2 (-120) First 5. One unit. The Angels are playing so well, and the Twins are continuing to to slump. Minnesota swept a home series with Chicago, but bookended around that was a dismal hitting series in Boston and now one in LA. With Nolasco on the mound I have to like my chances. He's possibly the worst starter the Angels have seen. And even though Weaver is not the same pitcher, he has enough guile, breaking stuff and command to out pitch Nolasco. Nolasco has a very low whiff rate, but doesn't complement it with a low walk rate. His 15 HRs in 89 IPs also stand out.

o fred,

Like your thinking very much. Hope the game goes according to "form" for you. You have all the makings. I would expect the game itself to go over 8.5 as well. The Rocks can hit, though they have not done it as much lately.

Best of luck, Sir!

As you mentioned, Rockies recalled LHP Christian Friedrich from Triple-A Colorado Springs.Friedrich owns a 7.89 ERA in 13 starts this season in Triple-A.

I considered the over, the RL, Milwaukee-1 and Milw. -1/2 First 5 too. Just in case Colorado DOES get to Peralta, I laid off the Milwaukee plays….. and just in case they DON'T get to Peralta, I laid off of the over. I figure the TT is the safest bet since it's totally dependent on Friedrich, the Rockies BP and the Brewers offense.
