Western Union

Hey guys,

Completely hypothetical. Many offshore books use western union as a deposit method where I'm guessing you get a foreign contact in another country.

Different people in different countries, pretty random.. If you were to be questioned about these transfers, what's your story? What do you say? Has anyone been questioned? Were there any complications? Are they strict or will they just accept simple "sending to a friend for whatever" and be done with it?

Curious to know how this works as it seems pretty sketch to me..

Yeah, you definitely get questioned occasionally. If they do question me, I say its to a missionaries host family.

I'd recommend an excuse built for the amount... if you deposit $500 or more say you are paying off a web designer or a coder for a freelance job. Can't go bad on that one... Say they charge cheaper than locals for same work and yes, you are that bright.

I've never been questioned once. I've sent WU over 50 times at least throughout the years. I started using MoneyGram because it's a lot cheaper although most sports books refund your deposit over $300. I've actually told the girl before that I'm sending money to a sportsbook. She looked at me weird and I said I gamble on sports. She said I don't know what that means and kept working on it.

I usually get a chance to work on my Spanish so they actually treat you even better when you do that while certain neighborhoods and areas are a lot more cash-based society for obvious reasons so it is very normal in some spots......

^^^^^^^^^^Furthermore, most in these areas don't care, they just want the business like Mexico......Speaking of Mexico, if you get in trouble down there and you got money on you they just walk away and look the other way as in some cases you can settle the case out-of-court right there without a bunch of legal b.s and lawyers for things more minor....So believe it or not, there are strengths in a so-called corrupt judicial system that makes more logical sense than ours at times.

This is one of the best excuses to use.

They also look at trouble as an opportunity..We can settle this at a BS inflated price or we will get the Policia involved. Last year I wasn't getting off of Cozumel without a goon following me to the local bank and withdrawing a good sum of pesos so I could leave..

I can't use WU anymore. I was black flagged several years ago. I had too many transactions coming and going and they figured out it was for gaming transactions. I never admitted to it and told them it was private family matter. They told me that I needed to take my business elsewhere.

The big mistake I made was signing up for their VIP service which gave you a discount on your fees. I believe that's how they were able to track it easier. As someone else mentioned never do gaming transactions online. Red flags abound. I never did that but know guys that have and they got locked out pretty quick.

Money Gram is cheaper and a lot less hassles. Go to places where people aren't getting paid a lot, they won't give a crap and just want to keep the line moving.

I am blacklisted at moneygram. Western Union is my very last option for depositing so I try to keep a healthy reserve in my sportsbook account to avoid it
