Kesler's a good player. Over rated? - Maybe Injury prone? - a little. My take .. he wanted out, so I don't want a player on my team who doesn't want to be there. Good move by Vancouver. They also sent Garrison to Tampa. Now we have 2 first rounders in teh draft. Rumours are we are looking to get the no.1 pick from Florida and are looking to make more deals to get home town boy Reinhart.

We are all Canucks!

Good Riddance - to an arrogant prick. Never passed, too many injuries, had one good season - but then the whole team did that year. What ever we were cooking worked back in 2011

Would have been a bad move for the Hawks to trade Sharp, he's a key piece to their team.

Coming from a non-biased point of view having Getzlaf, Kessler, and Cogliano in the slot puts the Ducks in the Pacific drivers seat IMO. They also have a ton of cap space moving forward, even after Kessler, to tie up present RFA, UFAs and/or spend elsewhere to beef up their blue line. With their depth in net the Ducks have to be considered one of the favorites in the NHL.

Last year Kessler 25 goals bonino 22

kessler scores a lot of EN goals as the checking centre on late in games.

i like what Benning is doing we are getting bigger and grittier.

Garrison was soft too....scored in eastern conference could score out here even at the Roxy bye-bye

flat out nonsense. Hawk fans are telling themselves this to feel better about not landing him but the package wouldve been on par with what they got out of Anaheim, maybe even better given that Anaheims in the division and we see them constantly but at worst on par. No way they wouldve asked for Sharp, 32 year old wanting a big contract not at all the direction the canucks are moving, doubt he was the sticking point or in the convo from the canucks end. I could see them saying Saad Terivanin and maybe another prospect, 1st or pushing for Shaw but more than likely Hawks wanted to push Sharp and that contract and age out the door and the canucks had no interest.

The hawks want him gone, he wants money, and hes earned it quite honestly but with Toews and Kane asking for 12 each, theres little to go around and they wanted a legit 2nd center for that money and sharp isnt that, great player but sort of a hybrid center winger they needed the depth the way the Kings and now the Ducks have down the middle and somebody nasty to play against but I agree when they push him out theyll regret it, hes a key piece.

Anytime you can get a 3 for 1 is a +EV deal. Benning did as good as anyone could hope for with the limited options Kessler gave him.

No doubt Canucks are in a better place today.

They did well. But I still believe they are on the outside looking in to next years playoffs. If they make it, it will be from sheer determination, not because of talent.

LA
Chicago
San Jose
Anaheim
Colorado
Minnesota
St Louis
Dallas

all better on paper. And you are dealing with a rookie coach.

But the Miller pickup was fantastic. At least Canuck fans wont have a goaltender to boo anymore. I think he's a great fit there.

LA still the team to beat though.

Oh they'll boo, 2 bad games in a row and you're gonna hear how they were a team going nowhere and overpaid for an old goaltender. Short of him putting up a vezina season he's gonna hear it, just the way this stupid fanbase is.

I agree, the Canucks will be hard pressed to be worse than last year, last year was just a perfect storm of everything going wrong but based on talent this team will need some help to see the post season. Anything can happen, at least I can say its fun to see a slightly different look team being put out there and with a coach with an offensive philosophy, I'll settle for entertaining hockey again.
