It's because they're like that in real life. Most cops are power-hungry pieces of shit who abuse their power.

They're mostly all assholes who always craved power and think it's their birthright. Funny how the cop exams are supposed to weed out sociopaths but that's all they seem to hire.

The cops on the reality shows are on their best behavior...... we could only wish they were that civilized when the cameras were off.

Its because they are assholes. Every time I get pulled over the cop is like "the reason I pulled you over is because you weren't wearing a seatbelt". I always end up with a ticket because I tell them its not a law and as an adult I can make decisions for myself.

Well - they probably didn't pull you over for not wearing a seatbelt - but it is the law in most states - including florida - that you have to wear a seatbelt. But why aren't you wearing a seatbelt? It literally makes 0 sense.

On a side note - cops blow

If I had to put up with the shit they do every single day, I would be an asshole too.

It's because they deal with the biggest assholes in America. I would act like a dick too if I had to deal with the shit cops have to deal with.

Got pulled over last week because the cop couldn't read my plate through the dirt. (work truck). Asked me to clean it, and sent me on my way. That was a reasonable cop. Oh ya, he did take my license and run it through the system.

In Florida cops are allowed to pull you over for not wearing a seat belt. A law is meant to protect one's civil rights and liberties. Saying one has to wear a seat belt infringes upon ones rights. By definition it is a tax and not a law.

power is abused on every level. i got two tickets last summer within 4 weeks of each other. Going 49 in a 40, really? Twice. Once it was going down one of the biggest hills in the area.

DC police officers are way cooler than MO county or VA cops. LAPD is the worst.
