Do you think fired coaches apply for unemployment?

It is a Federal program. Unless they changed the rules, they don't go off of how much $$ you have, they just go off if you were fired and was it just cause or were you laid off. Rules may have changed though as I remember reading about a lady in Michigan who won the lottery and was still getting unemployment. I thought of this today with the larry Drew firing. The max a month I think you can get is $1,300 or so. Even if they don't get it, I wonder if they apply. Afterall, it is free $$.

Even though they get fired, their contracts are still honored/paid so they are not eligible for unemployment.

Never thought of that.

It would be fun to be a fly on the wall during the interview if the team fought it

I think nick makes sense. Cant collect since they are paid. Football players that get cut may have a better case. But im not even sure these guys are paid via w-2 or if they are paid 1099 when signing the contraxt

if paid via w-2 I think they are eligible...but I think there is a max on how much unemployment will pay
