From Thursday evening until Monday AM

82 shot, 15 dead

5 killed by police

believe all were south and west side of the city

sad.....

where I live..ZERO violence. 5-6 miles south and west....war zone

This is nothing new for Chicago. Anyone see the Vice episode on it. Deaths every week. Massive gang violence. Black people dying left and right. Little children shot dead in drive bys.

No protests though because it was a black person who did the killing. They dont view that as wrong. If anyone else like Zimmerman kills in self defense they are marching and protesting.

If you give a person an automatic 25 years with no chance of parole if caught with an illegal firearm, do you think that would make a difference? Of course it would.

Maybe over the long run sure.. but the violence and idiots who have no brain would still break the rules to start with and jails would be over crowded with a bunch of superheros who owned an illegal weapon.

I would be happy to contribute a little more of my tax money to build more prisons. None of these people deserve to be walking around in society. Give them an automatic 25 year sentence for possessing a firearm. And if they fire a gun at anyone with intent to kill it should be an automatic life sentence without parole whether they kiil anybody or not.

I agree as long as you mean no more taxes, but use what we give.....which is enough as it is.

How about enforce the laws that we already have on the books? How about stopping the wasteful spending and manage the current resources better to get more control. How about implementing some sort of work for welfare program to take up just a little of the free time that these people have if they want to get free money.

How about instituting drug testing for the loafers?

Tell me that his is not a reasonable start.
