So some of these songs came from sessions recorded during or right after the Division Bell. I'll take it. Division Bell was a good album. Although a lot of critics panned it..

Never understood the hate for Division Bell, some really good tracks in there... The instrumental that kicks the album off, Poles Apart, Great Day for Freedom... and High Hopes is fucking great, and it's final lyrics are where the new album title (Endless River) came from.

Gilmore doesn't seem to get enough credit as a guitar player

Loved the band my whole life and am as big a fan of theirs as there is and know as much or more than most about them and while its true Waters was a DICK-tater - 95% of post Syd Barrett Pink Floyd was Waters. love Gilmour and he and Mason and Wright kept Waters from going rudderless musically and help him shape his songs and their musician-ship blew Waters away but almost everything they did idea-wise, concept-wise and songwriting-wise WAS waters with bit contributions from the others. Even though Gilmour is listed as co writer on some songs Waters never wrote anything directly with him or the others, Waters would take a small guitar bit Gilmour was working on and fit it into a song or after a Waters song was finished Gilmour would add some details which he and Roger would argue over after but any album without Waters is basically a Glmour solo album, and that may be fine, but it just aint the Floyd..

Great write up, don't know if you are looking forward to the album, hip hop prog rock? Don't see these guys in their 60's offering up anything new

Oh yes I am and I will buy it straight away upon release and I certainly did not mean to downplay the other members contributions, especially on Ummagumma and Dark side, anyone whos listened to Waters solo projects knows he could have used Gilmour and especially Wright tightening that shit up instrumentally..just saying Floyd without Waters will never be pink floyd

and btw, the song, money, obviously imo, is the greatest executed pop song of all time, but overplay on the radio killed it

"Wish you were Here" is the last Floyd album, the subsequent efforts were for the most part solo projects

I remember "The Division Bell" in 1994, it was a decent CD........gonna be interesting to hear their new album.

You can always have a party in your mind with Pink Floyd .......Floyd was pretty deep music, especially under the influence.
