Shouldn't you just Bet your 3 Unit Play ?

Take the money you would have put on the 1 & 2 unit play and bet even More on your 3 unit play ?

Hey Bet....... Great question..... But, I'm sure you already know the answer. Good to make people think though.

People lack the confidence and knowledge to make one bigger play. For several reasons, some comfort for most all people when they have two or even three smaller plays

One of the primary reasons the books consistently beat the tar out of most people!

Yes. I think most do it ( play all 3 games ) because of the lack of confidence. I also think most gamblers play with scared money.

That's, of course, why so many post their big LOCKS and whatever on here. Doesn't cost much electricity to play like a high roller on here.

Orrrrr. U can bet all 3 for equal amounts 1 unit and put a parlay for .1unit on the 2 and 3 unit plays.

I just can't do multiple unit plays anymore with what I've learned over time.. take your lumps. Don't martingale. Be patient..
Cheers

Because of variance.

If you expect a long term return of 3% you bet 3 units, 2% 2 units ect. If you bet 6% of your bank roll on a an expected 3% you're inviting variance to wipe you out in the long run because you are betting too much on one play. If you don't know what your expected return is on each play, then you have no business varying your bet size, and are asking for trouble if you do. Things even get more tricky when you're betting big dogs or big favorites because your expected return will come in with a ton of variance (dogs) or with less variance (big favs).

I'm not good enough to figure out what my exact edge on every play so I flat bet half of my average edge. I also stay away from big dogs and big favs, because you have to vary you're bet size.

Imagine having a 5% edge on a +1000 ML's and that's what you like to bet. You're not going to risk 5 units because you will put yourself in vulnerable position of going broke because of variance before it pays off, so the correct risk would be to risk 0.5 units to win 5 units.

Only about 4% of cappers are +ev cappers and probably less than 1% of that 4% can correctly vary their bet size.

Somewhere Steve Stevens is giving a standing ovation.

So is Einstein.

Great explanation Buddy! Most guys in here are still trying to isolate for sure on what sport they are even betting on!

Many will choose a side on “Illustrated Chinese Checkers"……. If it is televised!

Yea this is exactly what makes things complicated. I tend to bet heavy underdogs but bet size is extremely important as a bad run can destroy your bankroll before you have a chance to recover. I actually think that bet size and bankroll management are far harder to learn then finding games that are EV+.
