Alcohol + college parties = bad things can happen when several guys are alone with 1 girl, especially steroid pumping athletes.
Penn State had a rare situation with a pedophile feeding on kids for years while the administration & other top officials looked the other way.
Just imagine girls being sexually assaulted on college campuses across the nation. It happens way more than reported because these girls feel guilty & ashamed of what happened & don't want to embarrass their families & themselves so they keep quiet.
You get a freshman 18 year old for the first time away from home & finally away from her parents & they want to experience freedom in excess.......alcohol/drugs & college parties with a few bad apples (guys) that are stalking for young naive prey.
The universities don't want anything in the spotlight that could negatively impact their school & who are all these college students that harass the rape victims & protect these sexual predators (assuming there is hardcore evidence as in this case with semen in her vagina, panties & anal cavity) doesn't take a brain surgeon to take DNA from the football players & figure out who was involved.
Where's Clint Eastwood when you need him like in the movie Sudden Impact........now the lady in that movie took justice in her own hands & can you blame her?

I dont really fault authorities or the schools for not prosecuting when in many cases the "victim" has no idea what happened. You can't bring a case for trial when the "victim" doesn't know where she was, what she did or if she consented or not. I'm not saying its right but once alcohol and drugs get involved the likelihood of prosecution almost completely collapses.
in order to prevent these acts you need to start with telling girls to avoid overindulging and use the buddy system....you get past those two steps and it turns into mystery land. Yeah it shouldn't be the girls responsibility, guys are pigs, blah blah but if you want to solve the problem sometimes you gotta take it upon yourself to do so.
