Tim Tebow bought the 6,525 square-foot mansion for $1.4 million.

Tim Tebow is calling Jacksonville home again. Just not in the way some fans had hoped.

The former Denver Broncos quarterback bought a $1.4 million home at Glen Kernan Golf and Country Club in Jacksonville, the Jacksonville Business Journal reported Monday. Tebow grew up in the area and played college football at the University of Florida.

Some Jaguars fans recently petitioned their team to sign the former Heisman Trophy winner, who captivated the NFL world with his heroic comebacks for the Broncos in 2011. But Tebow won't be playing in Jacksonville. He'll just be living there -- and probably playing plenty of golf at his new home.

Tebow will be a college football analyst on ESPN's SEC network this fall.

Tebow's 6,525-square-foot crib was built in 2000 and sold to him by a physician named Dr. David J. Bailey. One can imagine he'll fill up his living room with plenty of high-definition televisions so he can analyze all of the games during his downtime.

Have people finally realized the sucker could not possibly succeed in the NFL. Really good NCAA player. But..... as soon as you see anyone run around and throw a JUMP PASS.... you can chalk up any chance for them in the LEAGUE.

Looks like a nice pad though. Good for him.

I wouldn't say this is a "mansion". Looks like an ordinary home in a golf club.

His skills measured by NFL standards are certainly far less than "ordinary". Hope he's better at broadcasting.

How is this for a ROI? This mansion is in Hickory Creek, Tx. It was built for 48m. A few years ago they were asking 76m for it. You can now buy it for 11m starting bid. It's located 45 minutes north of Dallas and I use to live about 3 minutes from this house. It's literally in the middle of nowhere. Average price home in the vicinity is probably 150k.

Over the top is an understatement.

Timmy got ripped off! He coulda gotten a pad in Ponte Vedra (about 8 miles from Glen Kernan) in that ballpark figure. That neighborhood is a bit pretentious. It's not in a great location (not bad, just not at the beach). If you live in the Jacksonville area you HAVE to live at the beach. The rest of the city is pretty ghetto or redneck. But the beaches are very nice. I still own a condo in Ponte Vedra Beach....
