The Minnesota Timberwolves and Cleveland Cavaliers have discussed a blockbuster trade centered on Kevin Love and the league's past two No. 1 draft picks, league sources told ESPN.

In an attempt to add Love, a three-time All-Star, the Cavaliers are willing to part with Andrew Wiggins and Anthony Bennett.

One source said the Cavs also are willing to give up a first-round draft pick for next season. Any other players involved in the talks are not known.
At one point, a trade seemed close to happening, but Minnesota wants more than the Cavaliers are currently offering, sources said.

The Timberwolves are also engaged in talks with the Golden State Warriors, who have been pursuing Love for several weeks.

The Warriors have thus far been unwilling to offer Klay Thompson, and are currently dangling David Lee and Harrison Barnes.

While some executives in Golden State are willing to part with Thompson, the club's overall stance has been that he will not be traded.

There is also a feeling around the league that Minnesota is attempting to drive up the price for Love by having the Cavs and Warriors compete for the deal.

Can't believe I'm saying this but Flip Saunders is actually playing this pretty well by pitting Cleveland and GS against one another. He'll never have more leverage than he does right now.

I do think if Minn had their way they would deal him to GS for a few reasons....

1. Glenn Taylor is 74 y/o and Wiggins being a better player than Klay in 4 years probably doesn't do much for him since he might be dead or close to it by then. If your 74, you are probably not thinking 5+ years down the line.

2. The last time Minnesota dealt their all star PF, the Celts won the title the next year and probably would've atleast won 1 more had KG not had that knee injury in '09. Dealing him to GS instead of Cle ensures they aren't helping another team create a mini-dynasty a little more, which is kinda embarrassing being the good teams minor league.

Twolves are fools if they decline the offer.

They are losing Love regardless....

which 1?

I think they want Klay/Lee more than the Cavs youngins thinking they can moreso reload than rebuild. Which pretty much never works but again, their owner is 74.

they 100% trading love....they still have a lot of time and the longer they hold out the better the offers get. just keep saying no and the two sides keep upping the offer....maybe when one bows out they'll immediately take the other offer
