Question re: cars - tires and rims

Sorry, but hoping someone might know...when you get new rims/tires on a car, do you leave the old set with the shop that installs the new ones or do you try and sell them to the folks that did the install (or another shop)? The existing ones have ~20,000 miles on them.

Wait until you are picking your vehicle up so that the new tires are already on, then negotiate. I'd say they owe you about 25-35% of the cost of the new ones. If they don't give it to you, don't pay for the tires.

Let us know how you make out. I'm putting a couple new tires on my truck this week.

Good luck. They buy used tires for $3-5 a piece all day long. Sometimes they're damn good, sometimes they're worth 5k miles or so. They have to pay a disposal fee to get rid of them.
