Indians @ Royals
Recommendation: Indians -114
TheIndians and Royals square off tonight in what is a very meaningful series forboth teams. The Tigers are the team to beat in the AL Central, but it’s farfrom a forgone conclusion with both of these teams on Detroit’s heels. Inreality, both of these squads know that their best shot is a wild card berth, and there isn’t room for both come October. The lack of power that Kansas Cityhas displayed thus far is alarming. They have to play “small ball” to produceany runs, and even that strategy is a work in progress.
CoreyKluber vs. Danny Duffy figures to be a heated matchup, as both starters havebeen solid for their respective teams. Kansas City has had trouble seeing theball off Kluber twice already this season, and given their current form itlooks like it will be difficult to plate runs again this evening. Duffy hasn’tbeen given any run support at all, and there’s nothing to indicate the Royalsoffensive fortunes will change anytime soon. As long as Kluber’s commandremains intact, he’ll be able to dominate this lineup with ease. The Indianshave been on a mission, putting up runs in bunches while trying the catch theTigers. Whether that happens remains to be seen, but we can count on Clevelandto outscore the Royals tonight. Take the Indians.
