I'm sure theres some people here that have had shoulder issues...

It's been about a week and my right shoulder is just getting worse and worse. I really thought I just slept on it wrong, but that was a week ago. Its hard to pinpoint where exactly the pain is because i'm sore down from my shoulder through my chest. then from my shoulder down the side of my arm. The motion that bothered me the most is bending at the elbow (pain in shoulder though no elbow) Like picking up your toothbrush and bringing it towards your mouth. I can't make that motion at all.

Those that have shoulder issues, is this a sign that there could be a real problem?
Or should I just give it another week and see if I just slept on it wrong?

You should purchase some Orange Triad or Animal Flex it will make that pain go right away if its not major.

this reminds me of that one thread from years ago when the guy thought he was having a heart attack or something and kept posting about it in real time before finally going to the hospital

:monsters-

Even worse case scenario with the shoulder isn't nearly as serious as a heartattack

Haha. I think I remember that.

Defying, just take some Pamprin and get some rest. In about a week, you'll be fine.

Defying,

The arm motion you mentioned, is your arm at your side and you feel the pain as you raise your hand towards your body or is your elbow away from your body and you are bringing your hand upwards towards your head?

The former could suggest a proximal bicep tear or tendinitis while the latter could suggest a rotator cuff injury. I'm not sure what your occupation is or if you are a weight lifter, but certain jobs, repetitive motion and weight training can slowly erode/tear the proximal bicep before a more serious injury comes to light.

haha not sure what youre asking.. when I pull my elbow away from the body and move it seems to be less severe...

It looks like Monday Ill go to the doctor. I pushed off it by accident today and things went dark.

It's still not constant pain though. It's only when I move it. But Ill go to my regular family doctor on Monday if it's not better. thanks for the help.

doing some googling, I'm guessing it rotator cuff tendintis

Going thru exact same thing. It's been over two months now...and no better, I would type in more detail, but I'm I too much pain! I will try tomorrow. This is the most painful thing ever..I did see a doctor but am going for second opinion. I got a cortisone shot but still hurts like hell-especially at night. I feel your pain-literally"

I wouldn't waste my time with a family doctor unless your insurance makes you be referred, which is a bitch. I guess you can make him give you a cortisone shot to make things a little better for 7 days, but seek the orthopedist immediately if possible.

Did you do anything to hurt yourself? I'd be paranoid that it was a heart problem or something like that but if you've had it for days it doesn't sound like it's a serious thing.

Did you go to the doctor? If so, what was the diagnosis? I am going back tomorrow as nothing has gotten better in 3 months. I will say, I have not been doing the recommended home exercises with bands etc, but it hurts too much. I am going to insist on an mri.

I had imflammation in both the rotator cuff and (enter name of muscle that i dont remember) But it's the front of my shoulder.

Doc said it was unusual to have both as they are usually 2 separate injuries... I have no idea what I did to do it.

Saturday night was so horrible... Sunday was bad. Monday I felt much better went to the Doctor anyways. I was in pain after the test. I took the medicine and it was literally instant relief. Haven't felt pain at all. Naproxen some anti inflammatory meds ... Said if this doesn't help Ill need scans ect, but I think this will take care of it.

I'm sorry to hear about your pain IAG. I can't imagine it lasting that long. A week was enough. And if its as bad as my worst, I would go insane.

Hope you get better fast!

Thanks Defying. My pain showed up a couple days after working with a personal trainer who had me walking around a track with weights over my head. I didn't notice that day, but I have to think that was the cause, or at least the straw that broke the camel's back. I haven't been back to the gym since that day. I think he called my condition shoulder impingement syndrome. I confuse that with bursitis/tendonits/frozen shoulder. I can't believe that I don't have something torn in there. At least you don't have to worry about putting on a bra! I hope that is all you need and that it resolves quickly. I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy...most of them at least ;)

My brothers left shoulder hurt him for no reason for several weeks & he couldn't play golf or anything physical.

He got an appointment with a specialist & received a cortisone shot & the pain went away completely.

Naproxen can be nasty towards your stomach.......I can't take that stuff for pain even if I eat food.

sounds like it could be an impingement but whenever i get some time i'll send you some links of tests to perform that should narrow it down, or pinpoint it.
