I watched that on ESPN2 early in the morning and it was incredible. Guy should have taken Katz offer to split it right away when they showed their cards, but I think the hand has to be played out in the WSOP.

Bad beat? Sure. I've seen worse.

I remember watching a WSOP hand 2-3 years ago where a guy with rockets lost to a runner-runner straight flush...to someone who didn't even have suited connectors. Far worse beat, even if the stakes weren't quite as high as the $1mil buy-in. If the guy who lost that hand never played poker again, I wouldn't blame him.

Anyone who has played poker long enough has won and lost that hand before.

Exactly.

Can't even tell you how many AKo vs AKo AI PF I've been involved in that didn't split. Same story here.

Shitty fate but not really a bad beat. Bad beat is you should have WON the pot and lost it, not you should have split the pot and lost it. IMO

I have lost on pocket Aces plenty of times. It is the type of hand you either win or bounces you from the tourney as you have no choice but to be all in most cases.

It is a bad beat. He should have tied the hand and he lost. He got his $$$ in good and lost - that is a bad beat to me
