My favorite play of July

Maybe it's only because it's the last day of July and I haven't been in love with anything lately, but I dig the Blue Jays at -125 today. Team total over is a great play as well, the over is a possibility but ultimately I like the side.

Jared Cosart going for the Astros today. Blue Jays are hammering curve balls lately. Struggling with cutter. Cosart throws his bad curve far too often and has no cutter. Combine that with Houston's iffy bullpen and I think Toronto can score 6-to-10 runs.

Houston not hitting at all right now. Going against Drew Hutchison today who throws FB/slider/change. None of his pitches are exceptional but Astros can't touch slider/change at all. Only thing they hit is curves which Hutchison doesn't throw.

Astros would potentially be a team total under play if I wasn't worried about Toronto leading by 5 or 6 runs late and putting in some garbage relievers. Blue Jays get the easy win today and knock Cosart out by the 5th.

Good luck to all.

Toronto jumped out at me last night looking over the opening lines. The thing I don't like about it is that it seems too obvious. Does the line seem low on Toronto you think?

Does seem a bit low. Lots of people will be on Toronto I'm sure. Line moved a tiny bit toward Houston but nothing that alarms me. Astros scored a ton of runs against the A's last series but the thing is they have a horrible OBP and had nearly as many hits as runs which is just a fluke. We'll see how it plays out. Good luck today Bourn.

It's also looking like Cosart could get dealt. Houston taking calls anyway.

I have a small lean on the over in this one. Both teams are hitting and both have pitchers who are very capable of giving up runs. Could be a lethal combo

Just heard that too! If he is a scratch I think Jays line goes much higher regardless who is penciled in no? Grabbing them at -124 now could be a steal.

.224 average and .279 OBP over the last week. No plate discipline. All those runs they scored against Oakland were fluky IMO. Barely had more hits than runs.

Probably goes a tick higher but Houston might move up Oberholtzer who is scheduled to go tomorrow and Blue Jays haven't hit lefties this season so kinda scary.

So you don't list pitchers w/ your wagers? I always do.....exactly because of this.

I list pitchers but people can do action bets if they think a guy might get scratched for a more favorable matchup.

RHP Jake Buchanan from Trip A Ok city pitching for Stros now
posted a 3.54 ERA and 44/10 K/BB ratio over 76 1/3 innings in Triple-A this year. Got roughed up by the Rays and did ok vs Tigers in his only MLB appearances.

For future reference, Cosart's fastball is a cutter. A hard one. That's how he makes his living... chewing up bats.

Good luck.
