How much does a vehicle depreciate per mile?

I get about 18-21 miles a gallon and drive for Uber. I am averaging $1.25 per mile after Ubers cut. I calculated gas is costing me approx .20c a mile, give or take a couple pennies. I am learning the short trips are best, around downtown Cincy. Minimum fare is $5. I get 1.40c a mile, .30 per min and $2 for them to get in my car.

A more fuel efficient car would be key. You could rack up some serious coin with a Hybrid or something that is getting 30+ per gallon

Back to your real question..... I don't know, don't care..... but that figure is set in stone by the IRS, is it not?

You can deduct .55 per mile on your taxes.

I think it's .55c you get to write off. The send you a break down every week on how many hours and wager per hour. I average $22-$35 a hour, but that does not calculate in gas. Trying to see if its worth the wear and tear on my car. Prime time on weekends and reds games are great. But to sit around on a week day waiting for a couple trips isn't. you can burn a couple gallons of gas on a 10 mile trip if you have to go 10 miles to get them, and 10 miles to their destination

Do the prices fluctuate based on demand?
Like if there is a big event happening and there is a high demand for your services does the price go up or is it always the same rate?

Yes. But I'm done at night after the kids snorting coke. It was a brutal 5 trips. Although I may need to tough it out. You can do 1.5-5x fares at peak
