Love this pick. Just threw down 100 to win 1600. Think this dude is going over 2k yards this year and just shatter defenses. He's an absolute beast. Can't wait to watch him play again!

Not a bad choice. Gary Anderson hasn't ran nearly as much in recent years so this isn't the same Wisconsin offense as before but I love the fact Badgers have 4 starting offensive linemen back. Gordon should see plenty of action.

Very true, especially if McEvoy gets the nod. But without James White, that nasty O line, I'm hoping he gets 300 touches. I just think he's got all the tools to just destroy defenses as the feature back. Can't see Anderson not utilizing their bread and butter this year and just run behind those beasts! Can you believe Wisky plays LSU week 1?? I can't even sleep, lol. Gonna be fun. LSU has a freshmen RB coming in that might give Gordon a run for his money.

Les Miles compared the LSU RB to Michael Jordan. That's after people were saying he's the next Adrian Peterson. 6'1, 225, 4.3 40. Beast!!

Your update

http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/ncaaf...-career-yards-per-carry-charts-193052076.html

Melvin Gordon now holds a lofty perch in college football history. The question now becomes if he can keep it.

The Wisconsin RB ran for a staggering 253 yards and five touchdowns on just 13 carries in the Badgers' 68-17 blowout win against Bowling Green on Saturday. The incredible 19.5 yards per carry means Gordon now has the most yards per carry of any running back in college football (min.: 300 carries).

Entering the game the career leader was Glenn Davis, who played at Army from 1944-1946. While partnering with FB Doc Blanchard, the two formed a Mr. Outside (Davis) and Mr. Inside (Blanchard) combination. For his career, Davis averaged 8.26 yards per carry.

With his monster game, Gordon, a junior, currently has 2,759 career yards on 321 carries, an average that works out to approximately 8.6 yards a carry. Before the game, Gordon's average was 8.13.

While two of Gordon's TDs were two and three yards each, he made up for them with TD runs of 21, 50 and 69 yards. It's crazy to think, but his average could have been better too. He also had a carry for no gain and a carry for a loss of a yard.

I thought they'd use him as the feature back... but they're splitting carries again. He simply won't have enough touches this year to get the numbers he needs. He could have 200+ and 3+ tds every game the rest of the year but he won't get enough touches. Sucks!

Even if he got the touches, his chances of winning were remote due to conference perception & lack of quality opponents compared to potential other candidates.

Jameis is eliminated you would think after not playing in one of Florida State's showcase games........

Still very early, but Mariota has to be the favorite at this point

He would have to have some big games late in the year...Nebraska, Iowa. Wisconsin would need to get to the Big Ten title game and probably win. His stats are nice from this game. But everyone is going to say, it's Bowling Green. The week before they gave up 8 yards a carry to Coleman (Indiana). Pretty much everybody has trucked on Bowling Green. There is no Heisman moment here. Wisconin's Oline opens massive holes and he sprints to the endzone. The last thought on the Heisman voter mind is, where did he go vs LSU?

Coach said he had a tweaked hammy even though Gordon and the coach originally said there was no injury. Very weird situation. He had over 140 yds and 8 ypc and gets 3 touches in the 2h. The coach is killing this team. He should get 25-30 carries a game.

If a RB wins, it will be Gurley.

Sorry, but Gordon is quite a bit overrated. If the hole is the size of a bus, he's gone, but he goes down way too much on first contact and that's discouraging given his size. Now he's got the fumble-bug. Well, he's getting carries now. 17 totes in the first half for 50 yards.

Georgia star tailback Todd Gurley was suspended indefinitely on Thursday while the school investigates an alleged violation of NCAA rules. The stunning announcement came before the No. 13 Bulldogs (4-1, 2-1 Southeastern Conference) face No. 23 Missouri (4-1, 1-0) in a crucial Eastern Division game, a huge blow to both the team and Gurley's Heisman Trophy hopes.
Georgia officials did not reveal the alleged violation. SI.com, citing an anonymous source, reported that the school was investigating whether Gurley was paid $400 to sign 80 pieces of memorabilia on the Georgia campus this past spring.

He definitely has a chance with Hill and Gurley out of the picture. Should have another 200+ day against Illinois and the coaches are finally making him the every down back and giving him enough touches.
