What the hell does that mean anyway? Just got called one by two ass clowns in the Poly cellar.....if I was supposed to be offended, it didn't work.

Anyone know what the meaning is or from what origin it came from. I have heard of the word, but never called one, so now that I have.....what's is it?

Would rather be a captain wafer if I had to choose....lol.

Captain Wafer...lol

I think the term "cracker" came from "crack-a-whip" like a slave driver.

I used to kid with my black friends growing up that used the term that it was better than being a burnt cracker.

""Cracker," the old standby of Anglo insults was first noted in the mid 18th century, making it older than the United States itself. It was used to refer to poor whites, particularly those inhabiting the frontier regions of Maryland, Virginia and Georgia. It is suspected that it was a shortened version of "whip-cracker," since the manual labor they did involved driving livestock with a whip (not to mention the other brutal arenas where those skills were employed.) Over the course of time it came to represent a person of lower caste or criminal disposition, (in some instances, was used in reference to bandits and other lawless folk.)"

It is racist and whoever said that to you should apologize. No need for racism on this forum.

It's not racist if he is one.

Though, I doubt he is...

Probably after you threw the gauntlet, since I just checked it earlier. To be honest it's all humor my friend. Just wondered where it came from. Responses here have been educational to say the least......haha.

Cheers!
