Tom Brady has seen a number of his offensive weapons depart over the years.

The Patriots trading Logan Mankins reportedly didn't sit well with Tom Brady.

New England's star quarterback was "very upset" when he heard that the Patriots dealt the standout offensive lineman to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, according to Bleacher Report. The Patriots received tight end Tim Wright and an undisclosed draft pick for the six-time Pro Bowl guard.

The Patriots reportedly asked Mankins to restructure his deal, giving back some of the money he was scheduled to earn. But Mankins balked at the idea of a pay cut, according to reports, which might have led to the stunning trade.

Brady has seen many of his offensive weapons leave either by trade or in free agency over the years, including Randy Moss, Wes Welker and Deion Branch.

Mankins was a first-round draft pick of the Patriots in 2005 and has been selected for the Pro Bowl each of the past five seasons. He appeared in two Super Bowls and started all 130 regular season games and 17 postseason games he's played in during a nine-year stay with New England.

"It's very sad. He's been here for a long time," Patriots cornerback Darrelle Revis said.

"I've only been here for a couple of months, but Mank is known around the league as being one of the best offensive linemen in the game," the cornerback added. "He's proven that, and he's done it for a long time."

The Associated Press contributed to this report.

He better shut his trap before he gets traded for a 2016 5th round pick

Make absolutely nothing of it. They will find someone else to block and he will be able to throw to a nice big target.

I probably won't, but it's at least a little disconcerting...does Brady voice his opinion often?

He didn't voice his opinion. He hasn't said anything publicly about it yet as far as I know. He's on WEEI Monday mornings.

This is someone commenting on how Brady looked upset. And I would wonder who wouldn't look upset when one of their lineman and best friends were traded a week before the season.

I think Brady is a little above holding a grudge. Life goes on. They'll be alright.

Brady will just take out his anger in being MVP or something.

Pats seem to always make the right move getting rid of a player one year too early rather than one year too late. Welker will be just a shell of himself with all the concussion issues. While Julian Edleman is in full bloom.
Tim Wright who Mankins was traded looks like Aaron Hernandez 2.0 without the .45 last night.
All the rookie receivers have grown up and look leaps and bounds better than a year ago at this time, and all they did was get to the AFC champinship.

With the Red Sox stuck in last place, there is nothing else to talk about sports wise in Boston. The Patriots have a history of trading their big name players after they have reached their peak. Chop might be right, next year ii's Brady who's gone!

Not so fast my friend. I agree with the premise I just don't think it'll be next year.
Next year Brady will actually make less money than this year. The year after however Brady makes 2 mill more than he currentley does and will be 39 or 40 years old. Jimmy G. will be have two years under his belt working behind the maestro.
Brady will be dumped Garrapalo will then take the reins in his 3 rd year after signing a long term contract half way through his first.
It dosen't make sense to pay a 40 year old QB with his best days behind him top dollar when you can have a 24 year old QB on his way up for half the money. And use the other half of the money saved on the Revises of the world.
Thats the Patriot way. And unfortunaley the downside when your talking about a guy like Tom Brady.

And the key here is Garrapolo can play. He already looks better than some of the first round picks already in the league picked in earlier years. And some established.
