Race 4 - $50,000 Guaranteed Pick Four Pool
Best Bet: BOB BEN AND JOHN (8th)
Spot Play: BRESCIA SEELSTER (11th)
Race 1
(1) QUADROPHENIA gets the rail to her advantage and comes from top connections. She is versatile and due for her fourth win of the season. (6) EVOLUTION OF DANCE has been the picture of consistency this season and has been a recent addition to the Henriksen barn. (9) OSPREY IMPACT shows quick speed, is versatile and has a solid closing kick.
Race 2
(1) MYSTICAL WISHES will need to mind her manners this week, but will likely be the favourite once again. (2) FLEXIBLE WOMAN comes from the Bax barn, draws well and has hit the board in two of her last three. (5) CAREFULWHATYOUWISH has a solid record this season, is versatile and may offer a fair price. She shows the speed and has been competitive in this Grassroots program.
Race 3
(5) CROWN ISLE closed very well last week in this class to finish second with a :27 final quarter. He has some back class to him and has been much better as of late. (2) BESTINTHEBUSINESS draws inside, has the speed and was a beaten favourite last week in this class. (1) MONTE CRISTO draws inside and should appreciate this class this week. He may offer a price and is a good option for the triactor.
Race 4
(7) MOONWRITER has hit the board in both career starts, comes from the Johnson barn and is due for his first career win. (5) DRAFT SEELSTER draws inside, comes from the Moreau barn and shows 1:54 speed for this maiden class. (9) PACE SEELSTER has the speed and will need to overcome post nine. He drops out of the Grassroots class and should be competitive in this field.
Race 5
(3) MISSYS GA GA draws well, is fresh off a win and will offer a low price in here. (1) MISS AULTSVILLE was a winner two back in this class and drops down into this level. (6) WONDERLAND SNOW has been very consistent this season, minds her manners and Parsons' barn has been very good.
Race 6
(6) BUCKAROO has won three straight, including most recently on this circuit last week. He's capable of the class jump and gets Saftic aboard again. (1) CANBEC KINGKAZIMIR certainly shows the quick speed as of late, but doesn't like to win races. He's a good candidate for the exactor. (9) NORMSTRIKESFAME gets Jamieson back aboard, which is key. He's a one dimensional animal with some upside.
Race 7
(4) NEFERTITI BLUE CHIP draws well for trainer Darling and is due for a win. She raced in the Gold Series just two back and closed out her mile very well last week. (3) MOMARA draws well and has been much better in her last three starts. (2) SHELLYSSILVERMOON draws inside and is fresh off back-to-back second place efforts. She's likeable with an inside post and Davis back aboard.
Race 8
(3) BOB BEN AND JOHN comes from the Coleman barn, hasn't missed the board in five starts this season and put forth a solid effort in his latest. (1) DREAMS BEACHBOY draws the rail, is fresh off a winning qualifying effort and comes from the Alagna barn. (6) SEAFORTH has won two of his last three starts, is versatile and went a big mile in his latest at Georgian Downs.
Race 9
(7) ***** MAC comes from the McIntosh barn, has been consistent in her last two and should offer a price in this wide-open tilt. (8) I JASMIN enjoyed an easier field last week en route to victory and shouldn't get overlooked again in here. (1) CAPTURETHEMEMORY draws the rail, is very versatile and could be sitting on a big effort for trainer/driver Henriksen.
Race 10
(4) TORCHES STAR was won back-to-back Grassroots titles for trainer Wallace and will offer a short price once again. (7) K D BELLA has won two of her last three starts, has a good overall record this season and enjoys leaving the gate. (9) CHELSEAS CHANCE will need to overcome post nine, but has been knocking on the door in her last two and gets Waples this week.
Race 11
(4) BRESCIA SEELSTER faced older competition last week and went a credible mile. She returns to fillies of her own kind this week and is very capable at a price. (8) REGALLY READY has been at her best in recent weeks and enjoys racing on the front-end. (7) SHADOWS WONDER comes from the Moore barn, has a good record this season and has hit the board in each of her last four.
Race 12
(5) DECISIVE DESTINY draws well, is fresh off a win in 1:51 4/5 and that makes him a prime candidate. (1) WORLD PEACE enters the condition ranks and has been blessed with the rail. He has a good record this season along with terrific gate-speed. (7) IDEAL JET drops out of the Gold Series and may offer a price. He's a price horse for the triactor.
