Apparently FSU is looking into discipline regarding the alleged sexual assault from almost 2 years ago...
Nearly 21 months after a female student accused Jameis Winston, Florida State’s marquee quarterback, of sexually assaulting her in his apartment, the university has begun a disciplinary inquiry into the case, the woman’s lawyer said Thursday.
Florida State officials interviewed the woman last month, spending a little more than an hour asking questions, said the lawyer, John Clune.
“We thought it went very well,” he said. “The school seemed to take it very seriously.”
...
On Thursday, asked about the new inquiry, a university spokeswoman, Browning Brooks, said privacy rules barred her from commenting on any specific case. However, she said, “in general, complainants control the timing in our process.”
David Cornwell, a lawyer advising Winston’s family, said Florida State was merely following federal rules that require an inquiry into any accusation of a possible sex crime. Cornwell said he did not expect the result of the student inquiry to be any different than the local prosecutor’s decision not to file charges.
Clune, the accuser’s lawyer, said Florida State had “assured us the proceeding would go forward, but what the time frame would be and what exactly that means we’ll have to wait and see.”
