An 8.4 ounce can over $3?

Is there some ingredient in Redbull that is costly or something?

Straight out of the can, nasty as fuck. Over ice with vodka and a splash of cranberry juice? Fucking delicious.

It's that expensive because people are willing to pay that much for it. If they weren't, the companies would be forced to drop the price. Maybe another question to ask is "why are people willing to pay so much for it?"

I like the taste but I can get the caffeine for much less in coffee.

i recall an interview with the owner on 60 mins or something and his quote on this question was:

"how will people know it is a premium beverage if it doesn't have a premium price?"

so basically by charging more, people think it is cooler

Go to the asian market and buy the original Thai kratingdreng. Much cheaper and taste way better than american version of redbull. American version is carbonated no bueno.

The bar I hang out in is a mizzou bar that has a average age of probably 24 and the amount of that shot they go through is amazing! I bet 95% of the shots are "bombs" with that crap in it. I don't drink anymore, but when I did, I would hate it when they put that crap in a shot. I always told the bartenders to leave it out and double the booze.

20 cents goes toward the can/product, 10 cents to delivery, 20 cents to overhead, and the other $2.50 sponsors the dude who jumps over the Brooklyn Bridge on a 10 speed, or the air races, or the cliff diving competitions, or the soccer team. They seem to invest in a ton of endeavors that have no chance of profitability.
