You play An Over 61 in a football game for 10 units

Half Time the score there has been 45 points

2nd Half Over Under is 34...

Question: Do you Middle? If so, for how much...

No. there are spots I "get out of a bet" if I have a slight middle and don't like the run of play. However this at 45 is a very strong position. These are the exact spots I want to be in at halftime so I never just make a saver here.

What's the point of betting the over if you aren't happy with almost 3/4 of the points you need at the half ??

NO

WINNERS NEVERS HEDGE and HEDGERS never win for the most part..

unless you have shopped it all out right--- the game is an over play -- stick with it.

In these situations I always ask myself would I split a pair of 10s if the dealer had a 4 showing in blackjack? Answer is no why would I not just take the almost sure winning hand.

What's that movie with Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels? It was released in 1994?

I would go for the middle.
#1 even though you are off to a great start there is still a chance the game will go under.
#2 this is not a hedge.

You have a very real chance of winning both bets.

Thats a huge middle where the odds are pretty close to 50% that you will win both bets.

So u cap the game thinking they will score a lot of points and it goes over. Turns out halfway through you are spot on....ao because you were right halfway through you are going to bet opposite of what u thought?

If this is hits both bets 50% of the time u are not winning both 50% of the time...50% is not a good winning% considering vig. If there is a key injury or a blowout leading you to think 2nd half will play diff then great to have the middle.

Otherwise I dont like the 2nd half middle.

this leads u to eat away at the winners while still paying full value on the losers

This is correct. You bet the over because you thought it was a +EV play

Betting -EV plays to hedge/suck equity out of your +EV plays will just lead to more losing over time. I could probably explain that better but I think people get the point.

Unless you got your liferoll on the game and realize at halftime that was a bad display of money management, then by all means hedge away.

Here is the correct way to bet on sports...It is very earth shattering but nonetheless this is it.

1. Bet plays you think are +EV
2. Don't bet plays you think are -EV
