DE: 49ers QB did use N-word

The Colin Kaepernick-Lamarr Houston slur saga just got more interesting.

Last week Kaepernick was fined more than $11,000 by the NFL for what an official called "inappropriate language" following a fourth-quarter interception in the San Francisco 49ers' 28-20 loss to the Chicago Bears in Week 2.

On Monday, Houston was flagged for the same thing, according to the Chicago Tribune:
The Bears defensive end was called for the unsportsmanlike-conduct penalty after a 2-yard run by Jets running back Chris Johnson in the second quarter. The 15-yard penalty helped set up the only touchdown of the game for the Jets in the Bears’ 27-19 victory.
“I don’t know,” Houston said when asked what precipitated the penalty. “(Umpire Tony Michalek) thought I cussed at him, but all I said was ‘back up’ because he was all up on Willie (Young) and I just told him to back up some. I guess he was intimidated by it or whatever.”
Kaepernick has reiterated that he did nothing wrong when he and Houston went at it — and Kaepernick points to Houston's comments that the quarterback didn't say anything offensive or out of line. Kaepernick shoved Houston.

"It will be appealed," Kaepernick said. "I didn't say anything. Lamarr Houston said I didn't say anything. We're going to leave it at that."

Side judge Laird Hayes threw the flag for unsportsmanlike conduct. On Sunday, FOX Sports Football insider Jay Glazer reported that Kaepernick used “the n-word” and that’s why he was flagged. With that report out, Houston backtracked on Monday night after a win over the Jets.
“He was just saying inappropriate language,” Houston told the Tribune on Monday night at MetLife Stadium. Houston said Kaepernick cursed at him, including using the N-word.

So now, besides defensive players getting flagged for even thinking of touching an offensive player or being in the same vicinity, now players are getting fined and flagged for talking badly to other players? PLEASE give me my Football back Goodell.

So the Rx is tougher on that word than the NFL? The Rx would ban you for it which technically means suspension for life.

Let people attack the ones who need to be attacked. Force them out. Kaepernick sucks anyway.

I can't believe they tried to jam up Kaep over some BS like that. Sit close at an NBA game and you could hear it a lot, especially when Allen Iverson was playing

Dont be an idiot. Its a rule posted here as unacceptable. If you want to test the rule go ahead and we will see what happens puff_>>

I find IDIOT more offensive than the "N" word. So maybe Murph needs a ban.

FWIW, two things. 1. Vlad has been allowed to post even though banned in the past....besides I said don't be an idiot (meaning he can choose to not be one)

2. Today I deleted a post where the term was used (N) and I gave the guy a second chance...so IMO it being a ban-able thing is relative to the poster, mod, and the usage of the term, as well as other things.

So it boils down to one mod's opinion? Either it's a rule or not.

It is not a banned offense automatically. Repeat offenders surely.. temporary ban maybe.. OP saying it was a ban for life is completely wrong considering he is back at Rx under a different account after breaking the rule in the past apparently. He assumed its banned automatic because he was!(keep in mind he had more than likely broke several dozen rules along the way)

Hard to represent the whole story since I don't know it, but bottom line is racism can earn you a vacation surely. I would assume all mods would act in similar ways, but just like a ref in a football game some of them dont call holding and some do. Racsim is closer to "targeting" and those get called too much, but only some come with a ban or fine for next game...

I think it is in the context of how it is said.

if someone says "BAS what's up my n____a" then that is probably cool

if someone says "FEE FI FO FIGGA I HATE A N___A" then that is gonna be flagged by the mods

One is a way people greet one another, the other is blatantly racist?

Not sure what else i can elaborate on

also to the mods, my bad for spelling it out. The fee fi fo figga part is from a Chris Rock joke.
