These daily sites are blowing up with 10's of millions exchanged every week. I think with all the guys out there making a living at it, we'll eventually see touts come from it.

Agree ?

I will say, it is fun and I hope the loophole in the law never changes..

So funny you mention that. I was talking to a guy that I used to work with who is back in the business and has a weekly radio show like we used to have before the Feds busted us. He says about 25% of his calls are from the fantasy guys asking for advice. He said he is thinking about just charging a flat rate for the fantasy advice clients.

We should buy up some .coms

Most good ones are already registered as far as URL = SEO goes. I have two registered that I don't know what I'm going to do with. I've been registering all sorts of domains and then 99% of them I don't even get around to putting up a website before they expire a year later. Did sell some of my 3D printing domains for a nice chunk of change. I'm way better at coming up with ideas than actually following through on the design process.

Anyone want 3dprintingvegas.com or 3dprintingsacramento.com? Looks like I have 2 left. Make an offer.

How much coin can someone make on selling a .com? Give me an average if you don't mind?

When you say nice chunk of change, how much are you talking. If you don't mind me asking.

Definitely not getting rich but if you get a nice domain registered for $10 you can occasionally flip em for between $50 and $500.

First domain I ever registered was jkrowling.net back in high school when Harry Potter was just starting to become a thing. Author had it registered but let it lapse. She threatened to sue me if I didn't hand it over, I asked for $250 for my troubles, she had no problem paying. Was a nice little score back in those days when I was working at the grocery store.

You probably could have got at least a K for that. She'd have spent more than that in legal fees alone.

Also just as a note to anyone considering registering anything with "fanduel" or "draftkings" in the URL, they will go after you and take the domain. I tried to sweet talk their legal departments but no go.

That's not bad at all. How do even go about flipping them? Do you advertise? Or do they come to you?

There are websites like sedo.com where you can list domains and take offers but most of the time I go after people to sell too. Haven't had much luck on sedo. All the 3D printing ones were location based IE 3dprintingnyc.com 3dprintingportland.com etc so I just looked up news articles about the 3D printing scenes in various cities, found names of owners, and emailed them. I hung onto the Vegas one since I live here and thought I might eventually do something with it but have too many side projects already.

Actually while I'm kinda/sorta on the subject, anyone here do awesome work with web design? The design process takes me forever. Might start paying someone to do that for me. If interested send me a PM.

There's got to be some already out there somewhere. It is fun. Tough to win tho, at least for me.

nice thread hijack boys..

My bad.

I put some money into Fan Duel a few weeks ago. Never did take 1st in anything. One night I had just about every player hit a home run or contribute big points and some other asshole took 1st because he had every guy on my roster except AJ Ellis at C the night he hit 2 homers. Another night I had a similar thing... another guy had the exact same roster as mine but took Amarista from the Padres at SS when he could have taken much stronger players. Sure as shit Amarista goes 2 for 3 with a homer (entered the night at .240 with 4 homers all season). Tough as hell to win 1st in those 100 people tourneys.
