Ripken won 2 MVPs, how close did Jeter ever come to even winning 1?

Jeter slightly overrated but you can't really be saying that shit right now.

Jeter three top 3 MVP finishes.. Barely lost in 06 to mourneau, which I feel jeter should have won.

He had a good career and obviously longevity works in his favor but he isn't 1 of the best players of all time or anything.

I guess he gets a nice bump since he isn't suspected of being on the sauce like 80% of the star players in his era

He was never in trouble which is tough living in NYC all those years. But the way he dealt with ARods arrival says alot about his lack of character.

Yeah I dunno what that means. I know him and ARod aren't BFF but what did he do when Arod got there?

Talked about this Today with Friends. But as a Yankees fan, I don't see anything wrong with it. Jeter a True Blue Yankee and Arod was from the Outside.

as for the question at hand. I think they are neck and Neck

He became the first Major League shortstop ever to have 30 home runs and 200 or more hits or 30 home runs and 40 or more doubles.

I don't have a problem with saying jeter is great.
But all this talking about deserving to be the first unanimous HOFer is ridiculous.

To say that he deserves to be the first is basically saying he was better then Aaron mays mantle etc.

If I choose Cal, does that make me racist?

Way more pressure on Jeter, but I have to say Ripken. Jeter is the only NYY that I like.

Bottom line Jeter is/Was a very Good Ballplayer... He was never in the News with Bad Press. As far as anyone knows, he played the game Clean.
Have dated a ton of Hot Girls... Not a known Diva ( like A-Roid ) and he played to the Limit.
Only people that have something bad to say are NY Met and Red Sox Fans.

What I Like about him is he is a True Yankee ( from their Farm System ) and not paid for by the Evil Empire.. lol
I also like that he gives a lot back. and more so with Kids.... which is our Future.

The Guy is a role model. End of Story.
